I grew up in a village, a farmer's daughter, making robots and drones today, have also reached my work abroad

I was born in a village but my dreams were as big as the sky. Simple things are not understood, complex things will be solved quickly. I always wanted to make a product that would help people. Make their life easier.' These are the words of Rajeshree Rajesh Devtalu, who works in the world of robotics and drones.

I had a dream of becoming a scientist since childhood.

At the age of 24, Rajeshree, who has shown amazing in the world of drones and robotics, says in a special conversation with Woman Bhaskar, 'I grew up in a village in Nandura, Maharashtra. The father would handle the grocery store, did the farming and the mother would take care of the house.

My two little bubbly brothers and I his elder sister. Our small family and my dreams are bigger than my stature. I wanted to become a scientist since childhood. While studying 10th in the village, APJ Abdul Kalam had read Albert Einstein. Maths and Science have always been my favorite subjects.

left the village and walked towards the big city

Akola is a little far from my village. From there I studied 11th-12th. Studied Engineering from NIT Nagpur. However, in graduation, I got to study electrical and electronic in which I was not interested. So the interest went away from that field itself.

I used to go to class every day but used to sit restlessly because I had to do some kind of experiment, which I was not able to do there. Then I came to know about IVLabs. Worked there.

When I got interested in making robots

Entered the world of robots through IVlabs. I loved working in this lab because robots were being made here. I would also do research about small robots. Slowly I convinced myself that now I have to make a career in this field.

IVlabs had both Maths and Science subjects which were my favourites. Second, I was getting very good projects. In the second year of college, I got a chance to present a paper on robotics in Australia. Here I told people about robots sticking to the wall, robots that walk on the ground, robots that fly.

See, how many laborers paint on the walls of high-rise buildings in India. In such a situation, their life is also in danger. I told about a robot that could save the lives of workers.

Opportunity to do internship in America

In the third year of graduation, I got a chance to tell juniors about robots. This has developed leadership quality in me. Confidence increased. This was the year when I got a chance to do an internship in America. Here I worked on Atlas Robot. Atlas is the most advanced robot ever, which works like humans.

How the robot's brain should work, how it should move, how to raise its hands, overall, I worked on the programming of the robot. Graduation ended in 2020 and only then came Kovid.

Got a job and also became a co-founder

My plan was that to make the world of robotics bigger, I would go to America and do my masters, but due to Kovid, we all had to be confined at home. Was sitting at home and then got a job in VECROS. After seeing my work, I was made the co-founder of the company. Now I work with this company to make robots and drones.

Opened a front against discrimination

This whole journey was not that easy. The discrimination between the boy and the girl was not understood till 12th because then only girls used to study in the school. The real challenge came in college. During graduation, it was understood that why girls lag behind in research in technical field. The labs in which we girls do research, practice, their opening hours are different for us and different for boys.

What we have to learn is to be learned during the day itself, the night is not for us. So there is no time restriction on the learning of boys. However, I also opened a front against this and got myself time till 12 o'clock instead of 10 in the night.

Girls make robots, this is the dream

Now when I look back on my own journey, it seems that a girl from the village will ever come and visit countries like Australia or America, I had not thought. Now my only dream is that every girl should make a robot. There should be a robot in every house. Make people's work easier. Insects damage the crops in the fields. Drones were able to give information about those insects. Drones should also contribute a lot in the security of the country. I will make my contribution in this.
